Recycling for the future

 Atlas Concrete Takapuna is in the final stages  of supplying concrete to the East Coast Rd  footpath replacement project for our customer  Opie Contractors Ltd. The project involves the  replacement of footpaths and crossings along  East Coast Rd, from Forrest Hill Rd to Sunset  Road. The concrete mix supplied is a 20 MPa  recycled mix using 20mm recycled crushed  aggregate, supplied from our Smales  Quarry recycling operation. Extensive trials  were carried out to ensure this new mix was a  success. The project has been a success with  the recycled mix performing to all expectations.  In total approximately 1000 m3 has been  delivered to the project.
